Why Craig is Running

Craig grew up in St. Cloud and remembers a community that was a great place to grow up, build a career, and make a home. Over the years, he has become increasingly concerned about the direction of the city and the issues affecting the health of the community.

While knocking on doors throughout Ward 4, Craig asked residents two simple questions: how long they had lived in St. Cloud, and what concerned them most about life here. What he heard reinforced his decision to run.

Craig knows St. Cloud’s challenges did not develop overnight and will not all be solved overnight. He believes progress requires listening, common sense, collaboration, and decisions made for the greater good of the entire community.

“The decisions we make should benefit the greater good of all the citizens of St. Cloud.”

Experience That Translates to City Hall

Craig spent 41 years in the private sector, beginning as a route driver at Spee-Dee Delivery and eventually moving into business development and leadership in Sales and Marketing. Over the course of his career, he helped bring tens of thousands of businesses to Spee-Dee and learned firsthand what it takes to operate successfully in a competitive industry.

His work centered on the kinds of challenges organizations face every day: controlling costs, improving efficiency, eliminating waste, planning routes, managing fuel expenses, and finding practical ways to compete effectively. Craig also spoke publicly on these topics and shared his industry experience through trade organizations and publications.

That experience shaped the way Craig approaches problems. He believes good decisions require asking questions, looking closely at the numbers, understanding the consequences, and making sure resources are being used wisely.

Now, Craig wants to bring that same practical, results-focused approach to St. Cloud City Council — working to make thoughtful decisions, protect taxpayer dollars, and deliver the best possible value for the people of St. Cloud.

“Common sense means asking questions, looking at the numbers, and making sure taxpayers are getting value for their money.”

Focused on What Matters to St. Cloud

Craig believes city government should listen to residents, use taxpayer dollars responsibly, and make thoughtful decisions that strengthen St. Cloud for the long term.

Responsible Spending

Craig spent decades in the private sector working with cost control, efficiency, waste reduction, and responsible use of resources. He believes taxpayers deserve the same careful attention when decisions are made at City Hall.

Common-Sense Government

Craig believes serving on the City Council means asking questions, examining the facts, and considering the consequences before casting a vote. Good government should never mean automatically saying yes.

A Stronger St. Cloud

After talking with residents throughout Ward 4, Craig has heard real concerns about the direction of the city. He wants to work collaboratively on practical solutions that improve the community and serve the greater good of all St. Cloud residents.
